Sword Art Online II is the second season of the popular anime series, an adaptation of Reki Kawahara's light novel. The season aired from July 5 to December 20, 2014, and consists of 24 episodes. It covers three arcs of the original work: "Phantom Bullet", "Calibur", and "Mother's Rosario".

Plot:

A year after the events of the first season, Kazuto Kirigaya (Kirito) tries to return to normal life. However, his peace is disrupted by a new incident in virtual reality. In the game Gun Gale Online (GGO), a mysterious player named "Death Gun" appears, capable of killing players in the real world through a shot in the game. Kirito is tasked by a government organization to investigate these deaths. He dives into GGO, where he meets the sniper Sinon, who becomes his partner. Together they try to uncover the secret of Death Gun.

After the conclusion of this arc, Kirito and his friends embark on a new adventure in ALfheim Online to complete the quest "Holy Sword Calibur".
