Synopsis
Shrek Forever After (also known as Shrek: The Final Chapter) is a 2010 American animated comedy film produced by DreamWorks Animation. It is the fourth installment in the main Shrek series and the sequel to Shrek the Third (2007). The film was directed by Mike Mitchell, with a screenplay by Josh Klausner and Darren Lemke. It is based on the children's book Shrek! (1990) by William Steig.
Plot
Shrek is going through a midlife crisis: he is tired of the routine of family life, constant responsibilities, and has lost the feeling of being a "real ogre." During the first birthday party of his triplets, he snaps and accidentally offends Fiona. In desperation, Shrek makes a deal with the cunning magician Rumpelstiltskin: he gives up one day from his past in exchange for the chance to feel like a free and fearsome ogre again. However, Rumpelstiltskin tricks him by taking the day Shrek was born, meaning Shrek never existed. He finds himself in an alternate reality where Rumpelstiltskin rules the kingdom, and Fiona is the leader of an ogre resistance who does not recognize Shrek. Now Shrek has only 24 hours to fix everything, win back Fiona's love, and reverse the spell, or he will disappear forever.
