Animal Friends (2027)

Overview

"Animal Friends" is an upcoming American hybrid film (live-action and animation) directed by Peter Atencio from a screenplay by Kevin Burrows and Matt Mider. The film follows two runaway animals — a horse (voiced by Ryan Reynolds) and a bear (voiced by Jason Momoa) — who embark on a journey across America to find the ranch that was once their home. Along the way, they try to rebuild their friendship, pursued by equally dangerous adversaries.

The film is produced by Legendary Entertainment, Maximum Effort, and Prime Focus Studios. Initially planned for release by Sony Pictures, the rights were later acquired by Warner Bros. Pictures through a deal with Legendary. The US premiere is scheduled for January 22, 2027.
