Synopsis

Overview

Deadpool 2 (2018) Deadpool 2 is a 2018 American superhero film based on the Marvel Comics character Deadpool. Directed by David Leitch and written by Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick, it is a sequel to Deadpool (2016) and the eleventh installment in the X-Men film series. The plot centers on mercenary Wade Wilson (Deadpool), who forms the X-Force team to protect young mutant Russell Collins from the time-traveling cyborg Cable.

Plot

After the tragic death of his girlfriend Vanessa, Deadpool attempts suicide but survives. He is rescued by Colossus, who brings him to the X-Mansion. There Deadpool meets young mutant Russell, who is being hunted by Cable — a cyborg from the future who seeks to kill Russell to prevent a catastrophe. Deadpool decides to protect the boy, assembling the X-Force team, which includes Domino, Bedlam, Shatterstar, and others. After a failed mission in which nearly all X-Force members die, Deadpool and Cable form a temporary truce. Ultimately, Deadpool sacrifices himself to save Russell, but thanks to Cable's time-travel device, he is saved. The film ends with a post-credits scene where Deadpool uses the device to correct past mistakes, including killing the Ryan Reynolds version from Green Lantern.
