On the harsh island of Berk, where Vikings and dragons have been enemies for centuries, young inventor Hiccup (Mason Thames), son of Chief Stoick the Vast (Gerard Butler), challenges tradition when he finds an injured Night Fury dragon named Toothless. Their unexpected friendship reveals the true nature of dragons and questions the foundations of Viking society. Together with the determined and ambitious Astrid (Nico Parker) and the blacksmith Gobber (Nick Frost), Hiccup faces a world divided by fear and misunderstanding.
