Synopsis
Overview
Luckiest Girl Alive is a 2022 dramatic thriller with detective elements, directed by Mike Barker from a screenplay by Jessica Knoll, adapted from her own novel. Mila Kunis stars as Ani Fanelli — a sharp-tongued New Yorker who seems to have it all: a prestigious position at a glossy magazine and an enviable, successful life. However, a memory of an old trauma from her past causes her perfect life to gradually fall apart, and the viewer, alongside the heroine, gradually learns the truth about what she endured. Chiara Aurelia plays young Ani in the flashbacks, and Melanie Lynskey plays one of the supporting roles.
The film was released in select theaters on September 30, 2022, and its worldwide streaming release followed on October 7 of the same year. The runtime is approximately 115 minutes.
