Mickey 17 (2025)

Overview

"Mickey 17" is a sci-fi comedic adventure directed by Bong Joon-ho, an adaptation of Edward Ashton's novel "Mickey7", released in 2025 (premieres: February 13 in London, February 28 in South Korea, and March 7 in the US). Robert Pattinson plays Mickey Barnes — an "expendable" member of a human space colonization expedition, who after each death is reborn in a new body with his memories intact. During the expedition, he faces dictatorial leadership portrayed by Mark Ruffalo (Kenneth Marshall) and Toni Collette (Gwen Johansen), as well as a dangerous encounter between two versions of himself. The film also stars Steven Yeun (Kai Katz), Naomi Ackie (Nasha Barridge), Patsy Ferran, and Michael Monroe. The film received positive reviews from critics and is considered one of the best book adaptations of recent years, though it failed to meet box office expectations.
