Murder, She Wrote (2027)

"Murder, She Wrote" is an upcoming American detective film based on the cult television series of the same name that aired on CBS from 1984 to 1996. The lead role of Jessica Fletcher, a mystery novelist and amateur detective, will be played by Jamie Lee Curtis, who takes over from Angela Lansbury. The director is Jason Moore ("Pitch Perfect"), and the screenplay was written by Lauren Schuker Blum and Rebecca Angelo ("Dumb Money"). Producers are Amy Pascal, Phil Lord, Christopher Miller, and Aditya Sood through Lord Miller under a first-look deal with Universal Pictures.

The plot will revolve around Jessica Fletcher — a former teacher who became a successful mystery author and has a remarkable talent for solving real murders. The action will likely take place in the fictional town of Cabot Cove, Maine, where Jessica encounters new mysterious crimes each time.
