Synopsis
Overview
"Sirāt" (Spanish: Sirāt) is a 2025 Spanish-French dramatic thriller directed by Olivier Laxe. The film follows father Luis (Sergi López) and his son Esteban (Bruno Núñez) as they search for Luis's daughter and Esteban's sister Marina, who disappeared months earlier during a rave in the mountains of southern Morocco. They join a group of ravers heading to a final party in the desert, hoping to find her. The journey becomes a harsh trial, forcing the characters to confront their own limits, as fate leads them along a narrow path between heaven and hell. The title refers to the Islamic concept of "sirat" — a bridge finer than a hair and sharper than a blade, connecting this world to the afterlife. The world premiere took place on May 15, 2025, at the Cannes Film Festival, where the film won the Jury Prize.
