Wuthering Heights (2026)

"Wuthering Heights" (2026) is a new adaptation of Emily Brontë's classic 1847 novel, directed and written by Emerald Fennell ("Promising Young Woman", "Saltburn"). The film stands out for its bold, sensual, and somewhat loose interpretation of the source material, as even the stylized title in quotes — "Wuthering Heights" — suggests. Fennell herself admitted that "it's impossible to adapt such a dense, complex, and heavy book," so her version is more of an auteur interpretation.

Plot unfolds in 18th-century England. The tragedy begins when the mysterious orphan Heathcliff (Jacob Elordi) falls in love with Catherine Earnshaw (Margot Robbie) — a girl from a wealthy family. Their turbulent romance turns into an obsession that destroys both their lives and leads to a series of cruel consequences. The film explores themes of passion, revenge, class barriers, and the destructive power of love.
