PEONIES (2026)

PEONIES is a single by Ukrainian singer YAKAYA (real name — Yana Milevska), released on July 3, 2026 on the label Black Beats. The track quickly gained popularity due to its driving sound and ironic lyrics, which play on the consonance of the words "peonies" (flowers) and "beer". The song is performed in the genre of Ukrainian pop music with elements of humor and folk motifs.

Plot and lyrics:

The main character is a "not simple girl" who, despite the attention of numerous suitors ("wagons of men"), prefers peonies. The chorus plays on a pun: "peonies" sounds like "beer", creating a comic effect. The text contains humorous lines such as "This peony for the morning, this peony for lard, white for courage, dark for scandal", as well as the self-ironic question "People, the song is about a peony, where is the spy? What spy? For a peony and onto the balcony!"

Authors and production:

• Authors: Yana Milevska and Ana Baston.
• Mixing and mastering: Mykyta Bohdanov (DANOV MUSIC).
• Label: Black Beats.

The single was released on all major music platforms (YouTube Music, Spotify, Apple Music, etc.) and received positive feedback from listeners. On YouTube, the official video on the YAKAYA channel gathered over 82 thousand views, and the premiere release on the Black Beats channel — about 2 thousand views.
