Cape Fear (2026)

"Cape Fear" is an American psychological thriller miniseries from 2026, created by Nick Antosca for Apple TV+. The series is based on John D. MacDonald's novel "The Executioners", as well as its previous adaptations — the 1962 film with Gregory Peck and Martin Scorsese's cult 1991 remake. The premiere took place on June 5, 2026, with the first two episodes released simultaneously, and subsequent episodes weekly. The season consists of 10 episodes.

Plot

After 17 years in prison, Max Cady (Javier Bardem) is released. He is a charismatic and dangerous sociopath seeking revenge on attorneys Anna and Tom Bowden (Amy Adams and Patrick Wilson). The couple, who once defended Cady in court, now find themselves at the center of his manipulations. Cady begins methodically destroying their lives, using legal loopholes and psychological pressure. The series explores themes of guilt, justice, and how the past can catch up with even the most successful people. Unlike previous versions, more attention is paid to the characters' internal conflicts and modern social contexts.
