The second season finds Dexter in New York, where he finds himself between two killers — one known and another terrorizing the city — while also grappling with a midlife crisis. In the second season, Brian Cox (as the "New York Ripper"), Dan Stevens (serial killer), Uma Thurman (reprising her role), Bokeem Woodbine, and Nona Parker Johnson join the cast. Production on the second season has already begun in New York.
