Dexter (2006)

Overview

Overview of the "Dexter" Franchise

"Dexter" is a cult American crime drama that tells the story of Dexter Morgan (Michael C. Hall), a forensic expert for the Miami Metro Police Department who leads a double life as a serial killer. Guided by a "Code" taught to him by his adoptive father, Dexter only kills those who deserve to die—other murderers who have escaped justice. The series explores themes of morality, identity, and the dark side of human nature.

The franchise is actively expanding: after the original series (2006–2013), a sequel "Dexter: New Blood" (2021–2022) was released, a prequel "Dexter: Original Sin" (2024–2025), and in July 2025, "Dexter: Resurrection" premiered, which has been ordered for a 2nd season.
