Overview of the series «Silo»

«Silo» is an American science fiction drama series created by Graham Yost based on the trilogy of novels by Hugh Howey («Wool», «Shift», «Dust»). The first season premiered on Apple TV+ on May 5, 2023. The series tells the story of a society living in a giant underground bunker (silo) with 144 levels, believing that the Earth's surface is toxic and uninhabitable. The main character is engineer Juliette Nichols (Rebecca Ferguson), who begins to uncover the secrets of the bunker's past and present.

Plot

In a post-apocalyptic future, thousands of people live in a huge underground bunker, obeying strict rules that are believed to protect them from the poisonous world on the surface. After the sheriff breaks the main rule and residents begin to die mysteriously, Juliette Nichols starts an investigation that leads her to shocking discoveries about the true nature of the bunker and those who control it.

Seasons

• Season 1 (2023, 10 episodes): Introduction to the world of the bunker, death of Sheriff Holston, Juliette's investigation.
• Season 2 (2024, 10 episodes): Juliette goes beyond her bunker, explores the origin of the underground society and the forces controlling it.
• Season 3 (2026, 10 episodes): Premieres July 3, 2026. Juliette survives the «cleaning» but returns with memory loss. The season also shows an origin story set centuries earlier.
• Season 4 (final, announced): Ordered together with the third season in December 2024. Will conclude the story.
